iPhone 5 to Have a Completely Redesigned Body?
iPhone is known for its unique and timeless design. However, you may feel it’s time for a little change and want a new look to the next generation iPhone. Your wish may come true according to the latest rumors.
BGR reports that the iPhone 5, definitely to launch in the fall of 2012, would have a completely new design:
We have also learned that Apple is planning to use a rubber or plastic material — similar to the material used in the company’s bumper cases — that will be built into the new iPhone case. In all likelihood, this material will be used as a bezel surrounding the front edge of the phone (like the iPhone 3GS bezel) and it will serve two purposes. First, it will join the glass iPhone face with a new aluminum back plate. It will also cover a redesigned antenna system that surrounds the device, allowing Apple to build the rear case out of aluminum without having to use a large plastic insert above the antennas as the company does on its iPad 2 Wi-Fi + 3G.

CNET have also posted before that the iPhone 5 is a “complete redesign. This is a very large project that Steve dedicated all of his time to. He was not that involved in the 4S because his time was limited.”
9TO5Mac heard from their contacts at Foxcoon and claimed that “the iPhone 5 would be delivered in the summer of 2012 along with a slightly bigger screen at the same resolution, faster processor and redesigned form factor.”
Ben Miller over at BenM.at homemade an iPhone 5, based on case leaks, known hardware components, and rumors. The prototype takes the rumored teardrop and rounded back design into account, going from 6.86mm thick at the top to 5.33mm thick at the bottom. It’s also 59.94 mm wide, which is a bit wider than the 58.6 mm wide iPhone 4. You’ll also notice the rumored oval shaped Home button. (From 9TO5Mac report)
How do you think about the rumored iPhone 5? Is it just like what you’re always longing for? Or a total freak? Rumors are rumors. One thing is for sure that Apple will constantly bring new big surprise to us.
